‘Otros ejemplos recientes’. Alejandro Cesarco

Otros ejemplos recientes (Other Recent Examples) is not technically an artist’s book. Neither is it a catalogue, nor a book of essays, nor an exercise in translation, and yet it is all these things at once.

This publication brings together works that explore the various functions, uses and forms of pedagogy, as well as other functions that reflect on the links between mother tongue, bilingualism and the peculiar ecosystem that sustains this interrelationship.

Otros ejemplos recientes includes an essay by Mirene Arsanios (“Notas sobre las lenguas maternas: Colonialismo, clase y dar lo que no se tiene” [Notes on Mother Tongues: Colonialism, Class, and Giving What You Don’t Have]), extended exhibition information sheets, and a series of epigraphs that act as a prologue and reveal the influence of Macedonio Fernández in the conception of this publication.
