The organisation and development of these X Encounters were marked by COVID-19, both because of the uncertainty during the months of preparation for the event and during the course of the conference. Some of the presentations had to be made online and participants were also offered the opportunity to participate online.

This edition examined the management of documentary heritage in specialised centres and provided an opportunity to learn about the various digital projects being developed in museums, universities and documentation centres, facilitating collective learning and the exchange of experiences between professionals from these centres.
